To celebrate the 20th harvest of Ben Ryé, Donnafugata is launching a new art label.

On October 15 Gibellina will host the ceremony, ten years after the death of the great Italian archeologist.

Donnafugata wines reaped many honors recently. The POLENA 2008 (from Catarratto and Viognier grapes) won the GOLD MEDAL at Germany’s Mundus Vini competition (www.mundusvini.de).

On Pantelleria, the man in charge of farming policy for the Italian Government spoke at the meeting organized in collaboration with Donnafugata and the CERVIM

We remind those now pointing the finger at wineries that it’s above all hard drugs and liquor, sold even in supermarkets and the nightspots so quickly defended two years ago, that get people high and make them lose control”.

The speech of José Rallo held at Pantelleria on September 2, on the occasion of the meeting organized by the Cervim and the Minister for Agriculture about “Heroic viticulture on mountains and smaller islands: a resource that generates revenue and protects the landscape.”

Italian mayors are raising toasts to the 2007 Ben Ryé, the Passito di Pantelleria which Donnafugata produces has won the Gran Medaglia d’Oro (Grand Gold Medal) in the Selezione del Sindaco (Mayor’s Choice) international Wine Cities competition whose 2009 edition was just held in S. Michele All’Adige.

Just ended in Palermo was the first edition of the educational “Change for Growth” project addressed to small Sicilian companies and created through cooperation between the Banco di Sicilia (UniCredit Group) and the UniCredit Territorial Committee for Sicily headed by José Rallo.
