On December 6 at the Rome Cavalieri, tasting booths with all the winery’s labels and a special vertical tasting devoted to Chiarandà.
After a successful 2007 edition, Donnafugata Day comes back to the AIS (Italian Sommeliers Association) in Rome. It will be an event entirely devoted to the Sicilian winery and will draw a great crowd of sommeliers and wine-lovers.
It will be held on Saturday, December 6 in the prestigious setting of The Waldorf at the Rome Cavalieri Hotel (Via Cadlolo 101). At 4:30 p.m. the tasting booths will open and until 9:30 p.m. it will be possible to sample all of Donnafugata’s wines, from the Anthilia to the “Cinque Grappoli” Ben Ryè 2007, as well as Milleanni olive oil and the grappas (Nero d’Avola, Zibibbo and Ben Ryè).
For a limited number of people the event will also offer the chance to attend an extraordinary seminar on Chiarandà – Donnafugata’s leading white wine – from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
AIS speakers along with Antonio Rallo – fifth generation of the family that created Donnafugata – and enologist Stefano Valla will guide a vertical tasting of 7 vintages of Chiarandà: 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 en primeur.
Admission is reserved to AIS and Club Bibenda members as well as their guests. Booking is required: tel. 06 8550941 or contact [email protected]
