Just a few months after it was released on the market, Donnafugata’s FLORAMUNDI Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG presents itself at Vinitaly in Verona with an extremely positive first balance by virtue of the success that this label is receiving: only in Italy, over 1,500 wine bars, restaurants and wine stores have already included this wine in their assortment.
Also abroad, FLORAMUNDI has received a very good welcome considering that it is already present in many foreign markets, starting with the strategic ones for Italian wine, both in Europe and overseas: Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Japan; it is significant that the doors of small and distant markets, from Mexico to Kazakhstan, from Taiwan to Ukraine, have also opened for a niche wine.
A wine that already at the Sicilian company’s historic cellars was greeted by the good wishes of an exceptional patroness, Carla Fracci, a universally recognized testimonial of elegance. After literature, illustrations and music, thanks to Fracci, it was dance’s turn to write a new page of the “Art and Wine” dialogue that characterizes Donnafugata’s communication and that has gathered a qualified audience of trade, journalists and opinion leaders.
Distinguished by the prestigious DOCG Vittoria – the only one present in Sicily – FLORAMUNDI is a key wine of the Donnafugata project in eastern Sicily, where the company has committed itself since the 2016 harvest, to produce the excellence of Sicilian wine from territories different from the historic production locations in Contessa Entellina and on Pantelleria.
Produced from Nero d’Avola and Frappato grapes, FLORAMUNDI represents a small and prestigious of wine craftsmanship that, in the Donnafugata Collections, has been placed among the Surprising Wines, to drink when you desire originality.
A type – Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG – that is highly appreciated for its capacity to satisfy the expectation of enthusiasts to find in the glass a territory and its traditional grape varieties. FLORAMUNDI is a much appreciated interpretation of Cerasuolo: a refined flowery soul, with intense notes of red fruit and spices, on the palate it is fresh and soft, pleasant and persistent.
Thanks to its ample and fragrant bouquet and its caressing tannins, FLORAMUNDI 2016 is an eclectic wine also in pairings: from the aperitivo with quality salumi (Mortadella Dop or a delicate prosciutto crudo di Parma), to dishes of Mediterranean cuisine and many preparations of ethnic cuisine.
